Ladies Style: What To Wear To University

November 11, 2017

Have you heard of Capsule Wardrobe? You only need some basics to mix and match to look different styles everyday! Below is a picture from pinterest to give you a rough idea.

(Source: pinterest.com)

Now, decide how many clothes you want to have in your wardrobe. You may refer to the list below as a guideline. Feel free to add or听remove items from the list.

Remember not to exceed the number of clothes you have promised at first yeah.听There is a reason of it being called 鈥淐apsule Wardrobe鈥!

I would recommend not to exceed 3 for Tops, Bottoms, and Dresses; not more than 2 for Jackets and Accessories; 1 for each Shoes.

Take a look below.

  • Tops:

    • ( 听听听) Loose Blouses

    • ( 听听听) T-shirts

    • ( 听听听) Tank Tops

  • Jackets:

    • ( 听听听) Cardigan

    • ( 听听听) Blazer

    • ( 听听听) Sweater

  • Bottoms:

    • ( 听听听) Skinny Jeans

    • ( 听听听) Shorts

    • ( 听听听) Skirts

  • Dresses:

    • ( 听听听) Casual (Jumpsuit Maybe?)

    • ( 听听听) Formal Occasions

  • Shoes:

    • ( 听听听) Heels

    • ( 听听听) Flats

    • ( 听听听) Heeled Sandals

    • ( 听听听) Casual

    • ( 听听听) Sports

  • Accessories:

    • ( 听听听) Sunglasses

    • ( 听听听) Hat

    • ( 听听听) Belts

    • ( 听听听) Scarfs

    • ( 听听听) Necklace

Also, I would like to add one more to the list:

  • Traditional Clothing - I鈥檝e seen my friends wearing their saree or punjabi suit for presentation. And it look gorgeous and formal! So if you are bored with blazer, maybe can try to put on your traditional suit for next presentation (It would be better if you ask for your lecturer's听approval听in advance though).

Tips:

  1. No one will remember what your basics are as long as you mix and match your clothes to make it appear in different styles.

  2. Again, do not exceed the number of clothes you decided to have听in the beginning.

  3. Capture a picture of each of your clothes so you would remember what you have mix and match previously (and the ones听you already have picture for your #OOTD :p ).

Now, time to go shopping.听

BUT, before you听proceed with your spree, do a 鈥榮pring cleaning鈥 first! If you feel it鈥檚 a mission impossible, call for backups! Invite your besties along (brownie points听if they have better fashion sense听than you).听

Things to prepare:

  1. Besties at your side

  2. 3 boxes with label: 鈥榯oss鈥 鈥榙onate鈥 鈥榬esell鈥

  3. Camera / smartphone

  4. User account at:
    Duriana / Mudah / Lelong / Carousell Malaysia / CLOSETStyles / Shpock / HappySale

Rules to follow:

  1. The One Year Rule

If you are not wearing it for a year, are you sure you would wear听it in the future?

  1. Ask yourself a question

If you are听shopping right now, would you buy this dress?

  1. Soft-hearted enough听to abandon your clothes?

If you still can鈥檛 make the decision, it's time your friends come听to help.

  1. Group the clothes according to their condition

[Resell] Hey, I know you want to sell everything but are you sure if anyone gonna buy it? Evaluate it as if your friend will get the clothes in the future.

[Donate] If you know even your friend wouldn鈥檛 buy it, but the condition is still good, donate it for a good cause. :)

[Toss] And please, if the clothes are in really bad condition, you can revive it in another form (i.e. fabric scrap, one-off-cleaning-purpose).

  1. Don't听think听twice

Just do whatever the label says.

Oh yeah. If your friend is听interested in your second-hand听clothing, swap with them!
